Please Note:  Since it can take 6 months to get your 501(c)3 approved the IRS does allow an organization to start soliciting for donations 6 months prior to approval.  One must explain to those whom they are soliciting that they have applied for a 501(c)3 designation but if it is denied their contribution will not be tax deductible.
